Celebrating 15 years of ECOBICI: A journey towards sustainable mobility
In 2025, ECOBICI proudly celebrates 15 years of travel, memorable moments and exponential growth. This anniversary invites us to reflect on the journey we have made, the achievements we have attained and, above all, the positive impact we have had on the community of Mexico City.
Since its launch in 2010, ECOBICI has been a key tool in the transformation of the city, helping to alleviate traffic congestion, reduce CO₂ emissions and promote a healthier and more active lifestyle. In this time, we have seen thousands of people take up cycling as an effective alternative to get around the city, reducing travel times and improving the quality of life of those who use it.
The goal has always been to offer an accessible, comfortable and ecological mobility option. Now, with more than 9,300 bicycles distributed in 689 cycle stations across 6 municipalities, much more accessible coverage has been achieved, consolidating the system as the largest in Latin America. In addition, we have witnessed how ECOBICI has gained the trust of its users, who see in it not only a mode of transport, but a real option to improve their well-being and the city in which they live.
The benefits that ECOBICI has brought to Mexico City are countless. Beyond being a bicycle sharing system, ECOBICI is a key piece in the fight for a greener, more inclusive and accessible city. Among the main benefits are:
