Tips for shooting this season
We’re entering the season of sunnier days and higher temperatures. Although it’s important to protect yourself from the heat and avoid prolonged sun exposure, traveling by ecobike is always a good option for a smooth and sustainable commute. Just keep a few recommendations in mind to make your trips more comfortable and enjoy every ride. We’ll share them with you here.
1. Find the best times
Before starting your ride, check the weather on your favorite app and plan your route. Avoid the hours of peak sunlight, generally between 12:00 and 16:00. Take advantage of the mornings, which are usually cooler, or the afternoons when the temperature begins to drop.
2. Wear light and comfortable clothing
Opt for light-colored clothing and breathable fabrics like cotton. Clothing with good airflow will help keep you cool while riding. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen and wear sunglasses to protect your skin and improve your visibility on the road.
3. Stay hydrated
At the beginning of your hike, drink fresh water and carry a bottle to hydrate along the way, especially if your journey is long. Avoid sugary or caffeinated drinks, as these can promote dehydration.
4. Choose shaded routes
Plan your route through tree-lined streets or shaded areas. Some of our recommended routes include Chapultepec Park and Paseo de la Reforma. You can also find shaded paths in Polanco, Coyoacán, and some streets near Insurgentes.
5. Pedal at your own pace
Remember, this isn’t a race; enjoy the ride and avoid unnecessary exertion. If you feel your temperature rising too much, slow down or take a break somewhere cool. Rehydrate, rest for a few minutes, and resume your ride when you feel comfortable.
The heat doesn’t have to be an obstacle to riding an ECOBICI. With these tips, you can continue riding comfortably and safely during the sunniest season of the year
