Practical solutions to the most common system problems
ECOBICI has been a great help for getting around the city, thus improving the quality of life of many people. However, we know that there have been some problems with its use. The good news is that work is constantly being done to solve each of them. Below, we present how to solve three of the most common problems.
1. Full or empty bike stations
The availability of bikes and spaces at bike stations is monitored in real time, and our team constantly keeps a balance on them. However, with the increase in demand and especially during “peak hours,” this can be a challenge.
Solution:
Use the app to plan your trip, it won’t take more than two minutes. By doing so, you can check the availability of nearby bike stations in advance. Also, try to be flexible: if a bike station is full, look for a nearby alternative; try to have two or three destination bike stations identified.
2. Difficulties when docking the bike
Although the docking system was made easier with the modernization of ECOBICI, we noticed that some users find it difficult to do so.
Solution:
Correct docking does not require much effort, but it does require your full attention. You probably know the steps to return the ECOBICI: center it in the docking port, push it firmly and confirm that you were successful. For this to work, take the following into account:
- Center the bike. But also make sure that the front triangle is in its correct position. Sometimes, when pedaling it moves a little, return it to the center and you will see that it will easily enter the docking.
- Push firmly. It is not necessary to hit the bike, in fact we ask you not to do it, remember that proper use will extend its useful life. Instead, hold onto the saddle as you push it in and once the triangle goes in, lift it slightly until the pins engage and the green light comes on.
- Confirm. In addition to seeing the green light and checking that you received the notification, we recommend trying to take the bike out to confirm that it is properly anchored.
3. Problems with the MI Card reader
In addition to the app, you can use the Integrated Mobility Card to take an ECOBICI. However, sometimes there are problems with some of the sensors, both on the cards and on the docking ports.
Solution:
If the card is not read at first contact, try moving it a little in circles over the reader and holding it for a few seconds until the bike is released. If the problem persists, please report it to our team, and try with another bike, or use the QR or license plate number.
At ECOBICI we maintain our commitment to continuously improve the service to offer you a better experience. We invite you to continue reporting any problems to our team, together we will make ECOBICI an increasingly efficient and reliable service.
