Quick guide to becoming a regular ECOBICI user
Every year we start with clear intentions: to move more, make the most of our time, save money, and find sustainable ways to get around the city. And while keeping these goals isn’t always easy, ECOBICI can help you achieve them. Because it’s not just about pedaling; it’s about adopting a more accessible way of experiencing Mexico City and reconnecting with your surroundings without being tied to traffic.

1. Activate your membership and take the first step
Choose the right plan for your lifestyle. If you’ll be using the bike several times a week, the annual plan is the most convenient for consistent use. It allows unlimited trips of up to 45 minutes every day, at a daily cost of less than $2.00.
There are also plans for 1 week, 3 days, or 1 day. You can purchase all of them through the app, on the website, or at a Customer Service Center (CAPU). Once you’ve registered, you can link your Integrated Mobility Card to unlock ECOBICI bikes more easily.
2. Master the app: your best ally
The experience is enhanced when you take full advantage of everything the ECOBICI app offers. Its map allows you to locate bike stations with available bikes and docking points, it features route planning to help you plan each trip, and you can even save your favorite stations. Available for iOS and Android, it lets you review your trip history and see your calories burned. Additionally, you can confirm the return of your ECOBICI and report units in poor condition.

3. Ride with confidence: the city is best enjoyed
Mexico City is best enjoyed when you make every street your own. Look for routes with bike lanes or less-traveled streets and start with short trips to everyday places like work, school, or the market. Sundays are a great time to practice, especially during the Sunday Bike Ride.
The key is to repeat the process until it feels natural. As the days go by, you’ll learn routes, times, and rhythms until the bike becomes the logical choice for all your commutes.
What are you waiting for to get around on ECOBICI? The city is there waiting to be explored; it’s just a matter of starting and staying consistent.
